LPAPA is pleased to host a 3-day “Signature Artist in Residence” Drawing & Painting Workshop in Laguna Beach with Signature Artist Rick J. Delanty, Tuesday April 11th through Thursday April 13th, 2023.
Want to improve your on location painting results? Ready to take your painting skills to the next level by improving your drawing skills? This class is for you!
Don’t miss this opportunity to study with Rick Delanty, an award-winning painter and LPAPA Signature Artist, for this 3-day workshop focused on what you need to know about drawing specifically to paint both indoors and outdoors. Rick will provide handouts, and sketching and composition demonstrations, that will help lead you to the foundation needed for successful paintings that bring the landscape to life. Lessons will include handling elements such as land forms, clouds, water and foliage, as you work both from life and photo reference.
Class meets from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm each day, with a lunch break. This workshop is open to all experience and skill levels, and will include personalized drawing concepts and techniques. Day 1 will meet indoors at the LPAPA Gallery; Day 2 will meet outdoors in Heisler Park; Day 3 will also meet at Heisler Park, made famous by California Impressionists drawn to the Laguna Coast, where students can draw and paint. Drawing time will be maximized, with a number of studies completed during this fun, liberating, and meaningful “draw-out” learning experience in which every artist’s improvement will be celebrated.
Students must provide their own drawing and painting art supplies, meals, and transportation to and from the workshop. Maximum of 12 students; requires a minimum of 6 students.

In addition to the workshop, the LPAPA Gallery is pleased to present an “Artist in Residence” Gallery Showcase Exhibition of original works by Rick J. Delanty, April 6 – May 1, 2023.

Dates: Tuesday April 11th, Wednesday April 12th, and Thursday April 13th
Times: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily with a break for lunch
Locations: Days 1 meets at the LPAPA Gallery located at 414 N. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 (949) 376-3635; Days 2 and 3 meets at various Heisler Park locations (location details to be provided during Day 1).

*Note: Tuitions must be paid in full to hold your spot in the workshop; pending registrations remaining unpaid after three (3) days are subject to cancellation. If you need to cancel, a full refund will be issued if LPAPA receives your cancellation more than 60 days prior to the start of the class (on or before February 10, 2023). If you cancel within 60 days of the start of the class (on or after February 11, 2023, and no later than March 10, 2023), you will receive a refund of your tuition LESS a $100 cancellation fee UNLESS someone on the waiting list fills your spot in the class in which case you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the start date (on or after March 11, 2023), you forfeit your entire tuition UNLESS someone from the waiting list fills your spot in the class in which case you will receive a full refund.
