LPAPA is pleased to host a 3-day “Artist in Residence” pastel painting workshop in Laguna Beach with Signature Artist Gil Dellinger, Tuesday April 18th through Thursday April 20th, 2023.
Ready to take your pastel painting skills to the next level? Want to improve your on location painting results? Need some inspiration and techniques to kick-start your work? This class is for you!
Don’t miss this opportunity to study with Gil Dellinger, an award-winning painter and LPAPA Signature Artist, in this 3-day workshop focused on pastel painting techniques to inform and improve your on location painting skills. Gil will spend 2 days “in studio” walking you through his process and techniques, developed and honed over a 40 year career, and 1 day painting on location.
Class meets from 9am-4pm each day, with a 1-hour lunch break. This workshop is open to all experience levels (some pastel painting experience will be beneficial). The workshop will include lectures, hand-outs, demonstrations, lots of one-on-one instruction, with two days working from Heisler Park images and drawings, working indoors “in studio” and the last day working outdoors “plein air” painting on location at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach. Gil will demonstrate his painting techniques and students will have the opportunity to paint several studies in this workshop. Students must provide their own art supplies, meals, and transportation to and from the workshop. Maximum of 12 students; requires a minimum of 6 students.

In addition to the workshop, the LPAPA Gallery is pleased to present an “Artist in Residence” Gallery Showcase Exhibition of original works by Gil Dellinger, April 6 – May 1, 2023.
Workshop Tuition*: $545 for LPAPA Members, $595 for Non-Members
Maximum: 12 students; Minimum: 6 students
Dates: Tuesday April 18th, Wednesday April 19th, and Thursday April 20th
Times: AM Session: 9:00 am to 12:00 noon; Lunch Break: 12 noon to 1:00 pm; PM Session: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Locations: Days 1 and 2 meets at the LPAPA Gallery, 414 N. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 (949) 376-3635; Day 3 meets at Heisler Park.
A recommended supply and materials list will be provided in advance of the workshop.

*Note: Tuitions must be paid in full to hold your spot in the workshop; pending registrations remaining unpaid after three (3) days are subject to cancellation. If you need to cancel, a full refund will be issued if LPAPA receives your cancellation more than 60 days prior to the start of the class (on or before February 17, 2023). If you cancel within 60 days of the start of the class (on or after February 18, 2023, and no later than March 17, 2023), you will receive a refund of your tuition LESS a $100 cancellation fee UNLESS someone on the waiting list fills your spot in the class in which case you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the start date (on or after March 18, 2023), you forfeit your entire tuition UNLESS someone from the waiting list fills your spot in the class in which case you will receive a full refund.
