Join LPAPA Signature Artist Ray Roberts for weekly live online painting classes focused on “Fundamentals of Structure & Design in the Seascape”, Monday June 8th through Monday June 29th (10:00-11:00 am weekly). Ray will talk through each painting demonstration with step-by-step reasoning and justifying his strategy, while answering your questions live. Ray has painted hundreds of locations throughout his career and has accumulated a vast library of images from each of these locations. The challenge with painting is every location has its demands and strategy with the way one approaches their painting. Situational challenges from water to atmospheric perspective, from bright colors to light/dark shapes; all have their considerations. Most times Ray starts with the dark shapes but occasionally he may put a bright color down first or isolate a very light shape.
Ray will pace us through his process of painting; selection, layout, block-in, and refining. Each step will illustrate his academic approach as applied to painting the landscape. Many situational strategies revealed.
