On Wednesday October 11th, participating college students from the Laguna College of Art + Design will gather in Heisler Park for the Laguna Plein Air Invitational Next Generation Paint Out. The students’ artwork will be exhibited for sale at the LPAPA Gallery and judged for cash scholarship awards; the award-winning artists will be invited to exhibit their painting during the October 14th Collectors Gala.
The Next Generation program is designed to cultivate and inspire the next generation of artists to carry on Laguna’s century-old plein air painting tradition, and provide college students with an art career experience. We are grateful for our 2023 Next Generation Mentor, LPAPA Signature & Invitational Artist Rick J. Delanty, for leading and supporting this program.
LPAPA’s Next Generation Paint Out is one of the education elements of LPAPA’s multi-generational Plein Air Project education programs that are intended to support today’s plein air artists and inspire the next and future generations of artists to continue the plein air painting tradition and Laguna Plein Air Painting legacy!
Proceeds from the sale of the students’ artwork will support the scholarship awards as well as the students. The LPAPA Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and by appointment; with extended hours to 9:00 pm the first Thursday of each month.
