3-Day Laguna Plein Air Painting Workshop

LPAPA is pleased to present a 3-day “Signature Artist in Residence” Laguna Plein Air Painting Workshop with Ray Roberts, Friday through Sunday, November 3, 4 and 5, 2023.
Always wanted to learn to paint vibrant landscapes? Want to improve your results while painting outdoors? Always wanted to learn about plein air painting but have been afraid to try it? Need some inspiration to kick-start your work? Then this class is for you!
Join Ray Roberts, award-winning oil painter and LPAPA Signature Artist, for this outdoor painting workshop focused on painting the landscape on location in Laguna Beach and surrounding areas. Ray will walk you through his process for creating exciting, expressive paintings.

Class meets from 9:00 am-4:00 pm each day. All levels welcome, beginner to professional. This workshop will include talks, demonstrations, lots of one-on-one instruction, and painting on location at outdoor Laguna and nearby locations. Ray will demonstrate his painting technique and students will have the opportunity to paint plein air studies in this fun and informative 3-day class. Students must provide their own art supplies, meals, and transportation to and from painting sites. Maximum of 15 students, minimum of 10.

In addition to the workshop, the LPAPA Gallery is proud to present a special “Artist in Residence” Solo Showcase Exhibition featuring paintings created by Ray Roberts for the LPAPA Gallery premiere. The Solo Exhibition will open Thursday November 2 with a special First Thursdays Art Walk Reception, and continue through Monday December 4, 2023.
Workshop Tuition*: $550 for LPAPA Members, $600 for Non-Members
Maximum: 15 students
Dates: Friday November 3 through Sunday November 5, 2023
Times: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch break each day
Locations: Painting locations, as well as a recommended supply list, to be provided to registrants in advance.

*Note: The workshop tuition must be paid in full to hold your spot. If you need to cancel, a full refund will be issued if LPAPA receives your cancellation more than 60 days prior to the start of the class (on or before September 3, 2023). If you cancel within 60 days of the start of the class (on or after September 4, 2023, and no later than October 3, 2023), you will receive a refund of your tuition LESS a $100 cancellation fee UNLESS someone on the waiting list fills your spot in the class in which case you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the start date (on or after October 4, 2023), you forfeit your entire tuition UNLESS someone from the waiting list fills your spot in the class in which case you will receive a full refund.
