2018 A Very Special Milestone
The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and our Laguna Beach Community
will be celebrating a very special milestone this year.
The first Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational was presented in 1999.
This year we will present our 20th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational
at our new home located at the Festival of Arts in the heart of Laguna’s arts district!
100 years ago in 1918, the first Laguna Beach Art Association was established and
the first Art Gallery in Laguna Beach was opened by
early plein air artists that we know and celebrate, such as
Edgar Payne, William Wendt, Frank Cuprien, Anna Hills and many others.
LPAPA’s mission, as a nonprofit art organization, is dedicated to preserving
Laguna’s rich artistic legacy established by these early Plein Air Artists –
who we honor today with our mission and dedication to the
plein air painting tradition in Laguna Beach, across the nation, and around the world.
To honor these milestones in history, we have planned a unique and special celebration
for our 2018 Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitational will celebrate….
