A California native, Rick has been painting oil, acrylic and watercolor landscapes and seascapes for over three decades. He has been a juror, demonstrator, and a plein air workshop instructor since 2006. He paints in an impressionistic style, characterized by an exuberant calligraphy of color and brushstrokes that convey emotion and movement. Delanty’s work has been included in Maui, Sedona, San Luis, and Borrego Springs Plein Air Invitationals. Rick is one of the few living artists whose work is included in the UCI/ Irvine Museum permanent collection. This will be Rick’s twelfth consecutive year in the Laguna Invitational.
