Each year local Laguna Beach Unified School District Students are invited for a plein air painting experience at Heisler Park for the Annual Future Generation Invitational Paint Out. This year’s event will take place on Monday October 9th, with students from each grade level, 4th through 12th, selected to participate by their schools, to join LPAPA for an outdoor plein air painting experience. Each grade level is paired in groups with a professional artist who will demonstrate and mentor the students in the creation of a plein air painting from start to finish.
The students’ masterpieces will then be on exhibit at the LPAPA Gallery, located at 414 N. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, Thursday October 12th through Monday, October 30th, 2023. The children’s paintings will be available for purchase through a donation made at the LPAPA Gallery with 100% of the proceeds donated to the student’s participating school (suggested donation is $50 but any amount is appreciated!).
Each participating student receives a plein air painting kit to take home and encouraged to continue painting. LPAPA is able to offer this program at no charge to the schools and students through the generous support provided by Art Supply Warehouse, Blick Art Materials, The City of Laguna Beach Lodging Establishments, The Festival of Arts Foundation, The National Charity League Laguna Chapter, and Donors. We are grateful for our Mentor Artists who volunteer their time to support the program.
We’re encouraging all parents to visit the LPAPA Gallery to see their student’s art work and consider making a donation to “purchase” your student’s artwork to support this art program and our local schools!

As the sun sets on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, you will find the Laguna Invitational Artists painting in and around the “downtown” Laguna Beach area starting around 6:00 pm and continuing into the evening for the annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational “Laguna Plein Air After Dark” Nocturne Paint Out. The public is invited to join us for Happy Hour, meet the Artists and watch as they create their “en plein air” nocturne masterpieces!
