” A hiker moves through the landscape. An artist allows the landscape to move through them. From the fixed point of an easel, I become a crude conduit, through which the story of a moment is told. Sometimes I don’t listen very well, or I just don’t get it. Occasionally, I’m able to use pastels or paint to translate that feeling of deep longing into something worth sharing.”

“Each day I awaken,  I’m excited to start the day and most days it’s with my brush in hand sitting or standing in front of my easel.  I’m passionate and strive to create paintings that tell an authentic story of life surrounding me.”

“Through my paintings, I invite viewers to explore two things: first, to listen to the melody within them—each born from my emotional connection to the world around me. Second, I encourage people to express themselves through fine art: drawing, painting, music, and even dance.”  As Dostoyevsky said, “Beauty will save the world”

“My work is a celebration of light filled moments revealed in rich and vibrant oil paint using my personal visual language of fresh and direct brush marks. Painting en plein air is central to my practice but I am equally at home working from a model, still life or interior. I find beauty in the ordinary, mundane and intimate rather than the grand vista. Coastal locations, domestic interiors and gardens and allotments provide me with rich and endless subject material.”
