LPAPA Signature Artist Larry Cannon was awarded Outstanding Watercolor in the March 2018 BoldBrush Painting Competition for “A Moment in Time: Malibu” (16×20 watercolor). We are delighted to share that there are a number of LPAPA members participating in the upcoming California Art Club’s “Art Between the Lines” show opening April 29, 2018 (Artists’ Reception Sunday April 29, 2018; 2pm – 4pm) and continuing until July 8, 2018. Participating LPAPA Members include Nanette Biers, Scott Hamill, Ellen Howard, Paul Kratter, Richard Lindenberg, Kim Lordier, Clark Mitchell, Camille Przewodek, Robin Purcell, and Barbara Tapp.

The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association received the 2018 LBaa Art Stars Award for “Best Arts Program” for its Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational. Now in its 20th year, the 2018 Plein Air Invitational will be presented during the week of October 6-14, 2018; click here for details.
In addition, LPAPA Artist Member Tom Swimm was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. LPAPA also received nominations for Best Arts Collaboration for its Plein Air Project lead by Director of Education Jeff Sewell, and LPAPA President Toni Kellenberg received an Arts Leadership Award nomination.

LPAPA Artist Member Vanessa Rothe has two of her plein air paintings created in Paris included in the Windows to the Divine foundation’s “Impressions, Markings & More” exhibition opening April 12th in collaboration with Space Gallery, and presented in conjunction with the Denver Art Museum’s current exhibition “Degas: A Passion for Perfection“.
