January 2025 Featured Artist Member: Hans Quinonez

January 2025 Artist Member of the Month: Hans Quinonez of Huntington Beach, California

Hans Quiñonez is a representational artist who works primarily in oil.  He was born in California and was pulled toward the arts from an early age. During middle school he learned the fundamentals of oil painting at Bergeron Art School in Huntington Beach. He continued drawing and painting for fun and the enjoyment of getting lost and absorbed in the creative process.  Although he often seeks quiet places in the world around him, he enjoys the fun and camaraderie of sharing the artistic process. “I see painting as a shared experience. I hope my paintings connect with others and reveal the experiences that inspire that journey through a vocabulary of light and color.”–Hans Quinonez

Monica Edwards: In Lieu of Flowers

by

LPAPA Artist Member Monica EdwardsMonica Edwards is an award winning artist, mom, friend, adventurer, traveler, hiker, camper, art, nature and animal lover. She has been a LPAPA Member, supporter and friend for more than a decade, and when faced with an unimaginable choice, she chose to die with dignity after learning that the cancer she has so bravely fought for several years had found its way into her brain.

Monica chose October 31, 2024, to be her last day with us in this world but her spirit and our mutual love will remain with us in our hearts forever and always. A Memorial was held on Sunday November 10th to celebrate Monica’s life and spirit.

In lieu of flowers, Monica requested a special education fund to be established to support LPAPA’s art education programs that she loved, volunteered and supported. We are honored for the opportunity to carry out Monica’s wishes.

Camille Przewodek plein air painting at Treasure Island in Laguna Beach

On July 22, 2024, the world lost a true visionary and master of color, LPAPA Signature Artist Camille Przewodek, whose vibrant plein-air paintings brought the light and beauty of nature to life. Camille was not just an artist; she was a feminist, philanthropist, social justice warrior, and a beloved mother and wife.

Learn more about Camille’s legacy in this memorial video, and how to support the family at this time from this shocking and unexpected loss.
