The Kids Paint Out event is a fun and informative opportunity for the kids to have a hands-on plein air painting experience while being coached by professional artist members of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA). This is an element of LPAPA’s year-round multi-generational “Plein Air Project“. The main objective of the Younger Generation portion of the Plein Air Project is to provide 4th grade students with the knowledge of plein air painting, art and California history, museum education, field study, and a multi-faceted education of California’s natural landscape. The program is meant to enhance their standard study of California history and allow students to connect these history studies to plein air art. Ultimately, LPAPA hopes that the program will change the way a student looks at their surrounding landscape and inspire them to further explore their artistic abilities.

LPAPA presents its juried art exhibitions at its “LPAPA in Residence” gallery located within the Forest & Ocean Gallery in the heart of the Laguna Beach art district. The gallery creates opportunities for LPAPA’s artist members from across the country to show their work in our thriving art colony, and it provides LPAPA with the opportunity for our nonprofit art organization to connect with our community, artists, supporters and art lovers. LPAPA’s mission is dedicated to promoting and preserving the plein air painting tradition and Laguna’s artistic legacy established by plein air artists more than 100 years ago. Funds raised through the sale of artwork benefits the artists and nonprofit LPAPA and its mission to enhance the livelihood of professional and emerging artists.
Celebrate the legacy, be part of the tradition!
