LPAPA Signature Artist Larry Cannon‘s Irresistible Force is featured in OutdoorPainter.com. Larry shares that this painting was painted en plein air during the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association Invitational a few years ago. The painter explains that since his early days in California after his training as an architect in the Midwest, he has been fascinated by the effects of Nature’s forces on the natural environment. Larry says that “Discovering plein air painting led to an ever-deepening appreciation for the land and sea around me, and a greater spiritual engagement with Nature. I have long had a strong emotional and intellectual connection with Nature and her infinite variety of moods. I respond strongly to the meeting of land, sea and sky, and to the realization that the same conflict between irresistible forces and immovable objects have shaped the land and human events since time began. I especially love painting the sea where I can sense the energy of the waves, the wind and the clouds that were born days ago and thousands of miles away.”
