LPAPA is pleased to announce and congratulate our new 2018 Signature Artist Members: Brandon Gonzales of Laguna Hills, California, Nita Harper of Rancho Mirage, California, Kathleen Hudson of Lexingon, Kentucky, Jim Lamb of Sammamish, Washington, Shuang Li of Escondido, California, Daniel Marshall of Denver, Colorado, Aaron Schuerr of Livingston, Montana, Michele Usibelli of Woodway, Washington, and Durre Waseem of Corona, California (photo: left to right, starting with top row).
“The designation of “Signature Artist” in any artists’ association is a recognition of high status, an acknowledgment by your peers that you are worthy of special distinction for your remarkable talent and capability in creating a work of art. It is a distinction that the majority of members of any art group do not have and in turn would love to receive. Your peers look to Signature Artists for inspiration and to set a high standard that they themselves strive to achieve.” — Mr. Jean Stern, Associate Director of The UCI Institute and Museum for California Art.
Only the top scoring artists based on the combined scores after the jurors’ review of examples of the artists’ body of work submitted for jurying, which must include both plein air and studio work, receive the designation of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association Signature Artist Member each year.
Many thanks to our 2018 distinguished panel of Jurors:
John Cosby, LPAPA Founding Member & Signature Artist,
Tim Newton, Chairman of the Board of the Salmagundi Club, and
Mr. Jean Stern, Artistic Advisory to LPAPA’s Board and Executive Director of The Irvine Museum Collection at The UCI Institute and Museum for California Art
