As the sun prepares to dip below the horizon, prepare for an enchanting evening as the Laguna Invitational Artists gather for the annual “Just Plein Happy Hour – Laguna Plein Air After Dark” Nocturne Paint Out!

Starting around 5:00 PM, you’ll find our amazing Invitational artists setting up their easels around Main Beach, the Promenade on Forest Avenue , and throughout downtown Laguna Beach. Watch as they transform the evening light into captivating “en plein air” nocturne masterpieces, capturing the unique glow of Laguna after dark.

This is a truly special opportunity for the public to:

• Meet the Artists in a relaxed, vibrant setting.
• Witness the magic of nocturne painting unfold live.
• Enjoy a Happy Hour and evening stroll in beautiful Laguna Beach.

This event is free and open to the public, and no advance registration is required. Just come, stroll, and immerse yourself in art under the stars!

The Grand Finale: Invitational Art Show & Festival

Sunday, October 11, 2026 • 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM • Free Public Admission

Experience the historic Festival of Arts grounds transformed into a massive, interactive outdoor art gallery. Wander the beautiful open-air layout, watch live artistic creation, and purchase original fine art straight from the source.

Sunday Schedule at a Glance:

• 10:00 AM | Gates Open: Free entry to the public. The main exhibition opens featuring original plein air works.

• 11:00 AM | “Sunday Best” Small Works Award Ceremony: Be the first to view a brand-new collection of intimate 6″ x 8″ small masterworks, with Sunday Best Award announcement happening live.

• All Day (10 AM – 4 PM) | Live Demos & Artist Meetups: Interact with 30 of the nation’s top award-winning landscape painters as they demonstrate their techniques live.

• Lunchtime | Food Truck: Pair world-class art with great culinary eats.

Sunday is an exceptional day to buy. To keep the exhibition dynamic, artists will be hanging freshly finished, new original paintings on Sunday morning to replace pieces sold during Saturday’s Collectors Art Party. Whether you are a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer, you will have access to an entirely unique catalog of art.

Event Details & Policies

• Dress: Cocktail attire is suggested. Because the entire evening unfolds beautifully outdoors, we highly recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening canyon breeze.

• Age Limit: This sophisticated evening is strictly reserved for guests aged 21 and older.

Next Generation Paint Out

Thursday, October 8th, 2026  |  Heisler Park

What happens when you pair the next generation of artistic talent with world-class mentors in one of California’s most beautiful landscapes?

LPAPA’s Next Generation Paint Out brings registered students from the Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD) to the bluffs of Heisler Park for a high-intensity day of outdoor painting. Co-led by professional mentor artists Mason Williams and Kelley Mogilka, this program provides a vital bridge between art school and a thriving professional career.

The Opportunities:

• Scholarships: Student works are juried by a professional panel, with top artists receiving cash scholarship awards.

• The Big Stage: Award-winning student painters earn an exclusive invitation to showcase and sell their work at the premier Collectors Art Party on Saturday, October 10th.

• Art with Purpose: Every painting sold directly supports the student artist and feeds back into funding LPAPA’s educational outreach.

Preserving a Historic Legacy > This event is a vital component of LPAPA’s year-round Plein Air Project. By investing in these young creators, we protect and celebrate the rich, century-old artistic heritage of the Laguna Beach art colony while inspiring the next generation to carry on the legacy.
