LPAPA Members and California Art Club OC Co-Chairs Anthony Salvo and Wendy Wirth invite you to join them for a CAC+LPAPA Paint/Sculpt-Out at Caspers Wilderness Park in San Juan Capistrano. Artists of all painting experience levels and painting mediums are invited to come outside to paint en plein air. Giant Sycamores are found all over the park, and there’s lots of wilderness, hillside and old oaks to paint. Explore wide fields of cacti across the dry creek bed, or vista views of San Juan creek. There’s a spectacular plateau view of the creek at the end of main access road.
From the 5 freeway, take the 74/Ortega Highway exit and drive inland, about 7 miles. Watch for the sign, the Park entrance is well marked. Grab a trail map for great info. After the entrance ($5 entry fee!), meet at second campsite on the right (across the dry riverbed). No amenities, so do bring lunch and/or snacks and water. Restrooms in the park.
This paint out is a free paint out event supported by the California Art Club in collaboration with the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA).
Tuition: Free! No registration required!
