Call for Artwork Entries for the 9th Annual “Waterworks” Juried Art Show
A celebration of plein air and studio watercolor paintings created by LPAPA Members!
We are grateful for the support of the Joe Hanks Van Cleave Foundation and embrace their Mission to support both individuals and collaborations with established charitable organizations in the education and artist expression of Plein Air watercolor artwork in its infinite forms.Â

Deadline to submit artwork online: Monday, March 24, 2025 (by 11:59PM)
Notifications emailed to accepted Artists: Monday, March 31st or as soon as jurying completed
Shipped Artwork Delivery: Needs to arrive at the LPAPA Gallery by 5PM Friday, April 25th
Hand-carried Artwork Delivery: Gallery open for delivery Tuesday, April 29th, 10AM – 1PM

Online Preview Auction (Finalists & Semi-Finalists):Â 10AM April 28 to 8PM May 1st
LPAPA Gallery Show (Finalists):Â Thursday, May 1st thru Monday, June 2nd
Art Walk Gallery Reception: Thursday, May 1, 2025, 6PM – 9PM (awards 7PM)*
Pick Up of Unsold Artwork at the Gallery: Tuesday, June 3rd, 10AM – 1PM**
*Gallery awards presentation will be live-streamed on Facebook
**Artists may also arrange for return shipping or pick up during regular gallery hours after show ends
The LPAPA Gallery is located at 414 N. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, California. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday, 11AM to 5PM and by appointment; hours extended to 9PM for First Thursday Art Walk each month.
The entry fee is $40 for the first 2 paintings submitted; please read the prospectus for full details. All submitting LPAPA Signature, Artist or Student Members will receive a $5 LPAPA Loyalty Rewards credit to their LPAPA-Portal.org account at the end of the show to reduce the cost of membership renewal. Not a Member? You can join online!
Award Winners: (cash award winners to be announced on May 1, 2025). The 1st Place “Best Plein Air Painting” award-winning artist will also receive a coveted “golden ticket” to participate in LPAPA’s 27th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational, October 4 -12, 2025.Â
Proceeds generated through the sale of artwork benefit the participating artists and nonprofit Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA). LPAPA’s mission is dedicated to painting the landscape, preserving Laguna’s artistic legacy, and promoting the plein air painting tradition. LPAPA strives to enhance the livelihood of its artist members through education and opportunity, and inspire the next generation of plein air painters to continue the tradition!
