Monica Edwards is an award winning artist, mom, friend, adventurer, traveler, hiker, camper, art, nature and animal lover. She has been a LPAPA Member, supporter and friend for more than a decade, and when faced with an unimaginable choice, she chose to die with dignity after learning that the cancer she has so bravely fought for several years had found its way into her brain.
Monica chose October 31, 2024, to be her last day with us in this world but her spirit and our mutual love will remain with us in our hearts forever and always. A Memorial was held on Sunday November 10th to celebrate Monica’s life and spirit.
In lieu of flowers, Monica requested a special education fund to be established to support LPAPA’s art education programs that she loved, volunteered and supported. We are honored for the opportunity to carry out Monica’s wishes.
LPAPA’s Plein Air Project is a multi-generational art education program that includes youth and adult education programs designed to support today’s emerging and working artists, and inspire the Future and Next Generation of plein air painters to carry on the tradition and legacy. 100% of your donation will be used to support plein air classes and arts enrichment courses for after school art classes in Monica’s honor.
