LPAPA Signature Member Rick J. Delanty recently was honored by the Casa Romantica Cultural Center in San Clemente as the inaugural artist to open in the new gallery space called “The Studio,” adjacent to the room in which the city’s founder laid plans to build “The Spanish Village by the Sea.” Besides being an award-winning LPAPA Signature Artist, Rick has recently participated as artist and lecturer at the “Paint Maui” plein air invitational, and is also represented by four galleries in the western United States. The new space is intended to house the current artist-in-resident’s work as he/she paints on the grounds, and represents artworks available for purchase in the gallery. The artist’s reception was celebrated February 27, with Delanty’s work being on view through the summer of 2025, when a second artist’s work will be featured. Delanty’s paintings of the local area will be represented primarily, and may be acquired from the Casa’s gift store.
Rick will be on hand some Thursdays and Fridays to paint on the grounds, and will be available to meet guests simultaneously with the opening of the “Gems of California Impressionism” on March 21st, a showing of a part of James Swinden’s private collection. To view more of Delanty’s work, gallery-goers are invited to visit his website at delantyfineart.com.
