Daniel Marshall: LPAPA+LOCA Paint Together, April 23rd

March 15, 2021 by Toni Kellenberg

Daniel Marshall Online Painting Demo

Daniel Marshall Online Art LessonLPAPA Signature Artist Daniel Marshall leads a fun and informative “Atmospheric Landscapes”  LPAPA+LOCA Virtual Paint Together live-streamed on Friday April 23, 2021, 10:00AM – 12:00PM PST (11AM MT, 12PM CT, 1PM ET). In this virtual workshop Daniel will focus on 2 key elements. How to maintain color harmony and create atmospheric perspective in watercolor.

By demonstrating how to control the consistency of pigment in your washes, he will show you how it’s possible to create believable tone, a sense of depth and a real sense of space can be achieved. At the same time, he’ll be sharing key tips on how to use a limited palette and maintain color harmony throughout your painting.

Paint along with Daniel as he works start to finish, from initial composition and design to completed painting, on a beautiful, atmospheric landscape painting. Reference photo and suggested art supplies included with registration. All registrants will receive the session recording to rewatch!

Daniel will be using watercolors for his demo, but all painting mediums are welcome. Beginners and painters at all experience levels invited to get out their painting gear and join the virtual fun and lessons learned in this virtual in-studio painting session. Paint along with Daniel live or watch the demo and wait for the recording to paint on your own schedule.

When registering, LPAPA Members must login to receive the LPAPA Member discount and LOCA Members should log in if they are also LPAPA Members or if not, use the LOCA discount code for the LOCA Member discount price.

Daniel is a prominent award winning watercolor artist currently based in Denver, CO. He is an avid plein air painter, being inspired by and painting the majority of his works on location. This has helped him develop a confident style with an immediacy and freshness infused into each painting. Dan considers himself a regional painter, however, benefiting from having lived on both coasts and now the great American West, his “region’ spans the country and speaks to many themes of Americana. He’s a Signature Member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and American Watercolor Society, and a Member of the Salmagundi Club, American Impressionist Society, and Colorado Watercolor Society. This painting lesson is supported by a grant funded art education collaboration with LOCA Arts Education and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA).

(Note: LPAPA Loyalty Rewards are not available for this collaborative education program supporting both LPAPA, LOCA and the Mentor Artists.)

To address the challenges imposed by the pandemic, LPAPA will continue to present its annual juried art shows online and in an auction format until it is feasible to return to physical exhibits and receptions at its “LPAPA in Residence” Gallery home at the Forest & Ocean Gallery in the heart of Laguna’s art district.

All submitting LPAPA Member Artists will earn $5 in LPAPA Loyalty Rewards. Proceeds from the sale of artwork benefits the participating artists and nonprofit LPAPA, and helps sustain LPAPA’s Mission and Gallery. LPAPA’s mission is dedicated to painting the landscape, preserving Laguna’s artistic legacy and promoting the plein air painting tradition. LPAPA strives to enhance the livelihood of its artist members and inspire the next generation of plein air painters!
