“A hiker moves through the landscape. An artist allows the landscape to move through them. From the fixed point of an easel, I become a crude conduit, through which the story of a moment is told. Sometimes I don’t listen very well, or I just don’t get it. Occasionally, I’m able to use pastels or paint to translate that feeling of deep longing into something worth sharing. Yes, I hope to sell paintings, to sell instructional DVD’s and to convince you to sign up for workshops. But, at the end of the day, I really want to convince you that there is more in a reflection than meets the the eye. Stay a little longer. Look again.”
