April 2025 Featured Signature Artist: Fernando Micheli

Born in the rural town of Fiano, near Lucca, Italy. Fernando immigrated and was raised in San Francisco, CA. With a short hiatus studying and traveling in Northern Italy in his late teens, Fernando returned home to the Bay Area to obtain his B.A. at U.C. Berkeley, College of Environmental Design and practiced Landscape Architecture and Urban Design for 37 years,
working on many prominent projects such as the Getty Museum, USC campus and Playa Vista.
After retirement in 2014, wanting to selfishly pursue the notion of creating for his own fulfillment and joy, he pursued his desire to become a painter and artist. He focuses on the immediacy of Plein Air painting and Representational art, capturing the beauty around him, but endlessly curious of the next challenge that will propel his desire to see and understand the world in a more intense way.
