The LPAPA Gallery is proud to present a special “Artist in Residence” Showcase Exhibition featuring studio and plein air works created by Signature Artist Aimee Erickson, July 5 through July 29, 2024.

In addition to this special Showcase Exhibition, LPAPA’s 18th Annual “Less is More” Juried Art Show will be at the gallery July 5-29, 2024. Proceeds from the sale of artwork helps support and sustain the gallery and LPAPA’s year-round art and education programs, and benefits the artists!

LPAPA is hosting a Plein Talk Presentation with a Painting Demonstration, Q&As, and Book Signing with Aimee Erickson on Sunday July 21st, 5:30-7:30 pm.  Refreshments will be served. Limited seating, so don’t delay in reserving your seat (Registration fee $30; Members $20 ticket link).

As LPAPA’s “Artist in Residence”, Aimee Erickson is leading a 5-day Laguna Plein Air Painting Workshop, July 21st pm through July 26th am, 2024. Click here to learn more about the workshop.

The LPAPA Gallery is located at 414 N. Coast Highway, on Gallery Row between Jasmine and Myrtle, in Laguna Beach, California. Gallery hours are 11am to 5pm Thursday through Monday and by appointment. Award Winners: (cash award winners to be announced on May 2, 2024). The 1st Place “Best Plein Air” award-winning artist will also receive a coveted “golden ticket” to participate in LPAPA’s 26th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational, October 5 -13, 2024. Read the full prospectus for details.

The Online Preview Auction referenced above will open at 80% of the full retail price for the painting with $10 bid increments. LPAPA underwrites the auction pricing so the artists will receive 50% of the full retail price regardless of the final auction sales price. The preview auction includes a “buy now” option at the full retail price. Unless other arrangements are made through LPAPA by the Collector, gallery paintings sold through the Auction and through the Gallery will be exhibited as sold with red dots then shipped or held for pick up after the gallery show ends. Paintings sold through the auction or gallery of the Semi-Finalist paintings will be shipped by the artist to the LPAPA Gallery or directly to the Collector based if instructed by LPAPA. Shipping fees to or from the LPAPA Gallery, and in the case of the Semi-Finalists to the Collector, are at the Artist’s expense.

Proceeds generated through the sale of artwork benefit the participating artists and nonprofit Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA). LPAPA’s mission is dedicated to painting the landscape, preserving Laguna’s artistic legacy, and promoting the plein air painting tradition. LPAPA strives to enhance the livelihood of its artist members through education and opportunity, and inspire the next generation of plein air painters to continue the tradition!

Nellie Gail Moulton Paint Out at FairhavenLPAPA Artists were invited to participate in a Spring Paint Out & Painting Competition at the Fairhaven Memorial Park, Saturday, April 27th, 9am to 12pm, to celebrate its 100+ years of history in Orange County and honor plein air painter Nellie Gail Moulton, who is at rest in the Mausoleum!

LPAPA Artists gathered in front of the Historic Mausoleum inside Fairhaven Memorial Park located at 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, California.

The Award Winners are… 1st Place Awarded to Mike Hill, 2nd Place Awarded to Jeannine Savedra, 3rd Place to Curtis Green, and Honorable Mention to Mike Major! Many thanks to the Awards Judges… Nellie Gail Moulton’s Great Grandsons Jared Mathis and Scott Barnes participated with Shelly from Fairhaven!

Congratulations to the Award Winners: 1st Place Mike Hill, 2nd Place Jeannine Savedra, 3rd Place Curtis Green, and Honorable Mention Mike Major!

Spring Fling Gallery Show, Ends April 29th!

The LPAPA Gallery in North LagunaThe LPAPA Gallery is pleased to present the artwork created during the World Arts Day Celebration & Paint Out in a special All-Member Spring Fling Paint Out Gallery Show opening Thursday April 18th and continuing through Monday April 29th.

Participating Artists include: David Allen, Jeff Bertuleit, Mary Christie, Lorraine Marie Cote, Karen Doyle, Jessica Falcone, Danny Folkman, Curtis Green, Mike Hill, Rebecca Holbrook, Xi Lu, Mike Major, Francis Pampeyan, Hans Quinonez, Nadalena Radis-Cobbs, Tamara Smith, and Jove Wang.

Plan to visit to see the show and consider making a purchase to support the Artists and nonprofit LPAPA. Sale proceeds benefit the Artists and provide the much needed support to help LPAPA sustain and grow its year-round art and education programs.

In addition, the post-auction Spring Fling Fundraiser gallery specials continue, so don’t miss out!
