As a painter, John Cosby travels extensively painting what he sees and feels.  Bold use of color and an energetic brush stroke, combined with the truth of the place, is what you will see and feel when viewing a painting by Cosby.  John shared the 2009 “Best in Show” award with artist Jill Carver during the 11th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational.

LPAPA Signature Artist Jennifer Diehl

LPAPA Signature Artist Jennifer Diehl
Hendersonville, Tennessee

Jennifer wants to live in a world where travel is instantaneous, time at the easel and with her family are both limitless, and pots and pans dance their own way to the sink and back into the cupboards. While these things seem to be something she may have to wait to experience, she has wasted no time in the real world. Having known her passion since she could say the word “artist,” her whole life has been spent pushing towards that goal. (jenniferdiehl.com/about)

Brienne M. Brown

LPAPA Artist Member Brienne Brown

LPAPA Signature Artist Brienne M. Brown
Julian, Pennsylvania

Much to her mother’s indignation, Brienne owned little clothing that was not covered in paint.  From a very young age, Brienne showed talent in art and music, but wanted to pursue a career in the sciences.  She started her education at the University of Utah as a double major (Art and Chemistry), eventually receiving a BS in Chemistry and finishing with a Master’s degree in 2004.  After graduation, Brienne worked in a Toxicology lab.  Though she painted some by taking an occasional class, as the years wore on, she realized she wanted more art in her life than a career in science would allow.  She was surprised and delighted to find great fulfillment in painting.  In fact, it became a necessity.

Boyer began painting at an early age, first showing his work while still attending high school in Williamsville, New York.  He graduated from the University of Utah in 1981 after five years of study under the portrait and figurative painting “Alvin Gittins”. Gittins’ ability to render the figure so expertly intrigues and influences him to this day.
