Jane Hunt Honored with Top Invitational Award

LPAPA Signature Artist Jane Hunt received the coveted $10,000 Best in Show Award for her painting “Back Bay Evening” at the 21st Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational Collectors Gala. The panel of Judges for the top prize were Janet Blake of the Laguna Art Museum, Kim Kanatani of the UCI Institute & Museum of California Art, and Tim Newton, publisher of Western Art & Architecture (formerly of Salmagundi Club NYC).

Kids Paint Out Gallery Art Show

Nearly 50 local school children were invited to Heisler Park for the Annual Kids Plein Air Invitational Paint Out & Cookie Reception on Monday October 7th. Children from each grade level, 4th through 12th, are invited through their schools to come outdoors for a plein air painting experience. Each grade level is paired with a professional artist and mentored in the creation of a plein air painting from start to finish. The masterpieces created by the young artists will be exhibited at the LPAPA in Residence at Forest & Ocean Gallery, along with artwork created by the Mentor Artists until Monday October 14, 2019. The children’s’ paintings are available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds to be donated to the child’s participating school.

Each participating child receives a plein air painting kit to take home and continue painting. LPAPA is able to offer this program, including buses and art supplies, to the participating schools and kids free of charge through the support provided by Art Supply Warehouse, Blick Art Materials, The City of Laguna Beach Lodging Establishments, The Festival of Arts Foundation, and The National Charity League Laguna Chapter.

We are grateful to our 2019 Kids Mentor Artist who donate their time and talents to support the kids and this event. Paintings created by these fine artists will be exhibited and available through the LPAPA in Residence Gallery at Forest & Ocean, at the Collectors Gala and the Invitational Art Show…

Diehl Family Exhibition: August 31, 2019

LPAPA is pleased to announce a special Diehl Family Exhibition opening at the Forest & Ocean Gallery on Saturday August 31st at 5:00pm! Plan to join us for refreshments, meet the artists and celebrate this special exhibition. The show will be filled with paintings by all three artists — LPAPA Artist Members Douglas Diehl and Susan Diehl, and LPAPA Signature Artist Jennifer Diehl (father, mother and daughter) — expressing atmosphere, light and space. A portion of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to support LPAPA’s Education Programs.
