A celebration of plein air and studio watercolor paintings created by LPAPA Members!

We are grateful for the support of the Joe Hanks Van Cleave Foundation and embrace their Mission to support both individuals and collaborations with established charitable organizations in the education and artist expression of Plein Air watercolor artwork in its infinite forms.

Deadline to submit artwork online: Monday, March 24, 2025 (by 11:59PM)
Notifications emailed to accepted Artists: Monday, March 31st or as soon as jurying completed
Shipped Artwork Delivery: Needs to arrive at the LPAPA Gallery by 5PM Friday, April 25th

**Artists may also arrange for return shipping or pick up during regular gallery hours after show ends

The LPAPA Gallery is located at 414 N. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, California. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday, 11AM to 5PM and by appointment; hours extended to 9PM for First Thursday Art Walk each month.

The entry fee is $40 for the first 2 paintings submitted; please read the prospectus for full details. All submitting LPAPA Signature, Artist or Student Members will receive a $5 LPAPA Loyalty Rewards credit to their LPAPA-Portal.org account at the end of the show to reduce the cost of membership renewal. Not a Member? You can join online!

Award Winners: (cash award winners to be announced on May 1, 2025). The 1st Place “Best Plein Air Painting” award-winning artist will also receive a coveted “golden ticket” to participate in LPAPA’s 27th Annual Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational, October 4 -12, 2025. 

Proceeds generated through the sale of artwork benefit the participating artists and nonprofit Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA). LPAPA’s mission is dedicated to painting the landscape, preserving Laguna’s artistic legacy, and promoting the plein air painting tradition. LPAPA strives to enhance the livelihood of its artist members through education and opportunity, and inspire the next generation of plein air painters to continue the tradition!

6th Annual LPAPA Strong Painted Postcards Fundraiser
Register to show LPAPA and the world some LOVE!

All LPAPA Signature, Artist, and Student Members are invited to participate in the 6th Annual LPAPA Strong Painted Postcard Auction. The annual “I Love LPAPA” theme is open to all painting mediums and all subject matters with the auction ending in time for the collector’s postcard to be mailed by Valentine’s Day. This year we’re asking our artists to paint their postcards in advance of the Auction so that participants will bid on the Artist’s postcard that they fall in love with! LPAPA’s goal is to have some fun raising friends, funds, and support the Artists and nonprofit LPAPA!

The deadline register to paint a postcard is Monday January 6th by midnight; register through the link below. After registering, LPAPA will mail a postcard kit to use to paint an original 5″ x 7″ painted postcard on the paintable Canson postcard provided (or on a 5″ x 7″ panel with the postcard affixed to the back).

Completed painted postcard image must be submitted by email by 11:59am, Monday January 27th, 2025. Online auction will open 10AM Monday February 3rd and end 6PM Thursday February 6th. Bidding will start at $50 with $10 minimum bid increments. Each artist will receive 50% of his or her painted postcard auction proceeds. No entry fee!
