Aaron Schuerr: The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, Artist in Residence, March 14th – 17th

LPAPA Signature Artist Aaron Schuerr will be the Artist in Residence at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, Thursday March 14th through Sunday March 17th. Aaron will be exhibiting his artwork and painting on site based on the schedule detailed below (available for both resort guests and visitors to enjoy).

Thursday March 14th

Plein Air Painting Demonstration on the Beach, 9:30 – 11:00 am
Meet the Artist in the Grand Lobby, 12:00-1:00 pm
Plein Air Painting Demonstration at 180blu, 5:30 pm through sunset

LPAPA is super excited to have the opportunity to be community partners with The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, and bring interactive plein air experiences for guests and visitors to enjoy! We’re looking forward to having Aaron here, visiting from his home in Montana, so please take advantage of this opportunity to visit The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, at One Ritz Carlton Drive, Dana Point, California, to meet Aaron, ask questions, and enjoy his painting demonstrations and art. Paid valet parking is available at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel; paid parking is also available at the adjacent Salt Creek Beach parking lot..

.Proceeds generated through the sale of the exhibition art work benefit the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association’s Mission to preserve and promote the century-old Laguna plein air painting tradition and its Plein Air Project Youth Education Program, as well as benefits the Artist.

March 2024 Featured Signature Artist: Camille Przewodek

March 2024 Signature Artist of the Month: Camille Przewodek of Petaluma, California

Camille is an acknowledged authority on color who regularly serves as an entry and awards judge for various painting competitions and events. She is also a much sought after instructor who annually teaches painting workshops across the country, and offers regular weekly classes close to home at her studio in Northern California. She has been a regularly featured, on-stage demonstrator at Plein Air Magazine’s Annual Plein Air Convention, as well as an invited instructor, lecturer, and panelist on the Hensche-Hawthorne approach to seeing and painting color at American Artist Magazine’s Weekend with the Masters. Przewodek is a Master Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society and the Oil Painters of America.

March 2024 Artist Member of the Month: Dawn Buckingham of Orange, California

Dawn Buckingham follows the tradition of American Impressionism by immersing herself in the natural landscape, as a plein air artist, in order to capture the light, color and mood of the area. The need to work quickly in the changing light is reflected in the energy of her mark marking and subtle layers of pigment. Plein air paintings inform her studio practice in both oil and soft pastel. Dawn feels that becoming an artist has given her the gift of seeing and experiencing the world in a new and enhanced way. She believes that the arts have a major role to play as a tool for raising awareness of the effects of global warming and the consequences of human activity on our planet. “My growth as an artist is a journey of personal expression, appreciating moments in time, and sharing my joy of painting with others through teaching.” — Dawn Buckingham
